A multidisciplinary theatre artist with a background in directing, design, playwriting, and choreography.
Bryelle Kerrigan Burgus has directed, choreographed, and designed over forty productions - from intimate plays to large scale musicals. Conceptualizing around the hearts of characters and their defining moments, she approaches each project with a joyous collaborative spirit and a never-ending curiosity revolving around journeys of self-discovery, subverting expectations, and the power of community.
Her original works, ranging from traditional proscenium to immersive experiences, put women and LGBTQ+ stories at the center of the narrative, telling universal tales of human connection . From the hardships of mortal existence to the chaotic joy of humanity, her humorous and touching experiences invite people to look at themselves and their relationships, with a goal of making the world more connective one human at a time.
She is the Founder and Artistic Director of Overture Arts and most recently the Head Electrician Off-Broadway at Life & Trust (Emursive Productions - producer of Sleep No More).
She is a graduate of SUNY Purchase College (Bachelor’s in Liberal Studies: Arts, double minor in Playwriting and Arts Management) and holds an MFA (Theatre) from Sarah Lawrence College.
